The Mollie Kathleen Mine has been operating public tours since the 1960's.  The current tour takes place on the 1000' level.  Many tools and pieces of equipment are demonstrated and visitors ride a pneumatic powered tram.  The tour is excellent and highly informative.  The town of Cripple Creek has a rich mining history and many structures remain.  There is active, large scale open pit mining still under way.
